Alberta Superintendent of Financial Institutions (ASFI) is a division of Alberta Treasury Board and Finance. ASFI regulates deposit-taking institutions, oversees corporate incidents and enforces standards of care imposed on financial institutions in Alberta. Its primary roles are to reduce risks for the consumer and allow companies who operate responsibly to compete with companies that might otherwise want to cut corners on security. ASFI goals regarding regulation of operations of financial institutions are solvency and market conduct.
