Notice of hearing for transmission line upgrade in Medicine Hat

The Alberta Utilities Commission, the independent utilities regulator, will be holding a hearing to consider an electric transmission development application and submissions received in Proceeding 3168.

Written evidence is due October 29, 2014.

The City of Medicine Hat Electric Utility, under the Hydro and Electric Energy Act, has applied to upgrade an existing transmission line by increasing the capacity of the line from its current voltage of 69-kilovolts (kV) to 138 kV. The project applied for would upgrade the electric transmission system between the existing Riverview (MH69S-6) and South Ridge (MH69S-3) substations. The substations would also be upgraded as part of this application.
