Why Alberta doesn’t need a national securities regulator

Recently Alberta’s NDP government stood up for Alberta businesses and investors by backing our provincially led securities regulator to continue overseeing our capital markets, rather than a single national agency.

Our decision was made after taking the time to fully understand the implications of regulatory oversight in our capital markets and the excellent leadership role our provincial regulator has taken on the national stage.
