Regulator appoints new head of enforcement

In an August 23 release, the BCSC announced the appointment of Douglas Muir as director of enforcement effective September 7. Muir has long and extensive experience in litigation. His early career includes a stint as an associate at Bolton and Muldoon, after which he worked for six years as litigation counsel with Farris. He joined the BCSC in 2004, spending seven years as litigation counsel in the Litigation group of BCSC’s Enforcement Division, then taking on the role of associate general counsel in the Office of the Chair, where he provided expert legal advice on various matters including administrative law procedures and freedom of information.
